Explore The Course

Since its first implementation in 2008, the ABC-TAMS (Advanced Bleeding Control in Trauma and Major Surgery) course has been so successful that it has trained more than 2,300 medical and surgical professionals nationwide and throughout Latin America in the management of patients with severe bleeding or at risk of this preventable life-threatening event.

Some of our modules

The Erythrocyte: Life and Work

Erythrocytes play a fundamental role in human physiology by ensuring the efficient transport of oxygen to tissues and the removal of carbon dioxide—processes essential for cellular metabolism and homeostasis. This course explores their structure, function, and clinical significance.

The Hemostasis from a Practical Point of View

Haemostasis is the complex physiological process that prevents excessive bleeding following vascular injury, while maintaining blood in a fluid state within the circulation. This course will delve into the cellular and molecular mechanisms of haemostasis, its regulation, and its relevance in health and disease.

Viscoelastic Tests during Major Bleeding

Offer dynamic, real-time assessment of the entire coagulation process—from clot formation to fibrinolysis—providing invaluable insights for guiding hemostatic management in critical care, surgery, and trauma settings. This course delves into the principles, interpretation, and clinical applications of these advanced diagnostic tools.

Evaluation and treatment of Preoperative Anemia

Effective management of perioperative anaemia is critical to optimizing surgical outcomes, minimizing transfusion requirements, and enhancing patient recovery. This course delves into the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and evidence-based strategies for managing anaemia in the perioperative setting.

ABC-TAMS
Worldwide!

A new step has been taken with the implementation of the first CASTYM course in Asia, specifically in the city of Coimbatore, India. Fifty delegates from different locations in the region participated, thus certifying six new facilitators (instructors) and setting a precedent for continuing education led from Colombia.
